Anna Verhulst, a longtime resident of Newton, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at age 100.

Born in the Netherlands in 1922, Anna survived WWII in occupied Holland. She was a beloved member of the staff of MIT, having served as secretary to the University President and longtime office manager.

She is survived by her sons Anton H. Verhulst and his wife Susan, and Roelof Verhulst and his wife Betty. Also survived by grandchildren Rebecca, Jacob and Samuel, as well as one great-grandson Asher.

She was the dear sister of Fred Willems, residing in The Netherlands and Willy, residing in Austria

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 4th at 11AM in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-7PM at the Burke & Blackingotn Funeral Home, West Newton.
