Chi-Tse Andrew
Lin
August 20, 1951 – March 28, 2026
Mr. Chi-Tse Andrew Lin of Newton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at the age of 74. He was born in Yilan, Taiwan, the son of Hong-Tsao Lin and Wen-Rou Hsu. Both of his parents were graduates of Chung Shan University and devoted themselves to education after coming to Taiwan. He was baptized at a young age, and his entire family were devoted Christians.
After graduating from Chung Yuan Christian University, he traveled to the United States in 1977 to study statistics at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned his master's degree. He then obtained a fellowship grant to Boston University, where he received a master's degree in computer science in 1979. At the end of that same year, he married his beloved wife, Ms. Shu-Ying Huang, and they began a new chapter of life together.
After graduation, he worked at Wang Laboratories and Honeywell. Later, he courageously started his own business in the internet industry. He was also active in community service, serving as president of the Yushan Association and as a board member of the Taiwan Chamber Commerce of New England.
Chi-Tse was a man of traditional values and unwavering integrity. Though not a man of many words, he always treated others with sincerity and care. He was always willing to support friends and neighbors, often lending a hand at a moment's notice. His good humor and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Within his family, he was a devoted father and a loving grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shu Ying, his two sons, Stephen and Gregory, his daughter Grace, his daughter in law Trinh, and his two beloved granddaughters, Sophie and Zoe. He is also survived by his older brother and two younger sisters in Taiwan, whom he kept in touch with regularly despite the distance. He cared for his family with unwavering dedication, sustaining and nurturing the home he cherished most.
His warmth, integrity, and kindness will remain in our hearts and memories. He had a deep love for classical music, which was more than a hobby—it was a lifelong passion.
