Obituary

David Chase Wheeler, 80, of Natick, passed away peacefully from complications of Covid on July 24, 2024. He was the son of the late Lois Huff Wheeler and Mark Chapman Wheeler of Needham.

A graduate of the Winchendon School, he served as an Army Ranger in Vietnam from 1966-1968, when he was wounded and a recipient of a Purple Heart.

A beloved son, uncle, brother and friend, he was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Grant Walton Wheeler and Mark Chapman Wheeler, Jr. Surviving to cherish his memory are his sister Ann Wheeler Burgess (Russ) of Mystic, CT., sisters-in-law Pamela Grant Wheeler of Yarmouth, Maine and Jane P. Wheeler of Marblehead, Mass., nieces Karen Burgess and Ann Wheeler, nephews Russ and Mark Burgess, Rob, Scott and Sam Wheeler, and among many, a special friend from childhood summers in Maine, Mike Wartman.

Dave loved all things outdoors, a good hike, a good book, a good conversation, all four-legged creatures, and all things Zen.

A family gathering and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
