Obituary

Dolores McEllin (Pellegrini) of West Newton, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the age of 88. Beloved daughter of the late Nicola and Loretta (Tocci) Pellegrini, Dolores was raised in a tight knit Italian community in Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School.  She began her working career at Graham Company then moved on to become the General Manager at City Gardens.  In 1983 she, along with her late husband John McEllin, founded McEllin Company, in Waltham specializing in hardwood flooring supplies and equipment. Dolores' aptitude for business along with her skills working with the public helped to grow the success of the business, still in operation today.

Dolores was the loving mother of Renee Quebec-Connolly, and her late husband Paul Connolly and Danielle Pellegrini and her husband Johnny Pellegrini; and the devoted grandmother to Michelle Connolly and Nicholas Pellegrini. She was dear sister of Ann Criel and the late Donna Boffo, Gerry Pellegrini, Jo Pellegrini and Tony Pellegrini. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Dolores will be remebered for her generous nature. She loved to be surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Friends and family are welcomed to visiting hours and shared remembrances, on Wednesday, March 11, from 11AM – 1PM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, West Newton, followed by interment in Newton Cemetery.
