Psathas, George, of Newton, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2018. Beloved husband of Irma (Amatruda) Psathas, together for 67 years. He graduated from Yale University receiving his Phd in Sociology. He taught at Indiana University, Washington University and Boston University. George is survived by his daughter Christine Psathas and her husband Robert Shavot, David Psathas, Anthony Psathas and his wife Jeannine. Grandfather of Alexander, Nicholas and his wife Kara, Selena and her husband Tim. Brother of Dorothy Sargeant. A Memorial service will take place on April 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the First Unitarian Society of Newton, 1326 Washington St., West Newton, MA.
