Gerard C. Bourque passed away August 22, 2026 after a valiant battle with cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife, June, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. In addition, he leaves behind his sisters, Andrea Dupuis and Anne Marie Bourque, and brothers Dennis Bourque, and Thomas Bourque as well as several nieces and nephews, and his good buddy and walking companion, Callie. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Bourque, and his parents, Victor M. Bourque and Anne M. Bourque.

He was a humble and modest man with a great sense of humor and a friendly and outgoing personality. He was gentle and loving with a quick and warm smile for everyone he met.

An avid reader, whose life was built on a foundation of creativity, kindness and community. He brought joy to those around him through both his quick wit and his rich, resonant bass voice, which he shared for many years singing in the St. Paul choir in Wellesley MA. His professional life in design/build construction mirrored his interest in architecture and historic preservation.

Yet, for all his interests, he deeply valued the simple pleasures of his daily life ~ hanging out with June, tending his gardens, walking his dog and offering a genuine, warm smile to every neighbor he passed.

He will be remembered as a truly kind and loving person.

There will be a gathering for friends and family on Thursday, September 3rd from 10-11AM in St. Paul Church in Wellesley followed by a Funeral Mass in Gerry's memory at 11AM. Burial will be private at at later date.
