Gertrude J. (McLaughlin) Furdon of Medway, formerly of Wellesley Hills, passed away in Holliston on March 26, 2021 at the age of 89.

She was born and raised in Boston to the late Daniel J. McLaughlin and the late Margaret L. (Edgington) Frazer. She was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls, Class of 1949.

Gertrude worked briefly for New England Telephone in Boston where she met her true love of her life in an elevator, the late William H. Furdon. They were married for 61 years having raised 6 children before his passing in 2013. Gertrude was a loving housewife, mother, animal lover and a friend to all. She was an active parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley Hills, as well as a member of The Catholic Daughters of St. John's and many other church activities. She also enjoyed Bingo, baking, cooking and ceramics.

She is survived by her children, Carol A. Sullivan and her husband Wayne of Ashland, Patricia M. Furdon of Medway, Barbara F. McDaniel and her husband Richard of Medway, Janet L. Beecher and her husband Peter of Medway and Robert S. Furdon and his wife Anne of Medway. Gertrude is also survived by her grandchildren, John McDaniel and his wife Teresa, Laura McDaniel, Melissa Beecher, Stephen Beecher and his wife Leanne, Ashley Sullivan, Joseph Furdon, Kelly Furdon and William Furdon and her great grandchildren, Mila McDaniel, Maverick McDaniel and Maxwell Beecher. She was predeceased by her son William H. Furdon, Jr., her sister Barbara Severson and her brother Charles McLaughlin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday April 7 at St. John the Evangelist Church 9 Glen Road, Wellesley Hills at 10 o'clock with limited capacity due to Covid-19 restrictions. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham
