Mary "Gloria" MacNeill passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 17 th , 2022. Born in Drogheda, Ireland, Gloria emigrated to the U.S. at a young age with her parents Patrick & Ethel Matthews (deceased), and siblings Ethel & Frank (deceased). The family settled in South Boston before Gloria met the love of her life, Stan MacNeill (deceased), and relocated to Newton to raise a family of her own.

Gloria is survived by her four children; Stan MacNeill and wife Pamela, Gordon MacNeill and partner Janice, Linda McHale and husband Jimmy, and Gloria Donahue and husband David. Also survived by her adoring grandchildren Scott, Steve, Lindsey, Dana, Keleigh, Jennifer, Danielle, Kayla, Kim, Aleah, Shane and Bobby. Multiple Great Grandchildren had the honor of knowing Gloria as well.

Gloria was affectionately known as "Ma" to so many around her, related or not. Whether it was bringing a box of pink (strawberry frosted) donuts to her loved ones or dancing in the kitchen, Gloria was the matriarch that everyone could count on. She will be remembered fondly as a say-it-like-it-is woman wit a heart of gold. In her later years, Gloria's family could always count on her for hilarious commentary while watching current events unfold on T.V. Some comments cannot be shared in public but trust us, they were gold.
