James L. "Jim" Antonellis, Of Newton, died peacefully at home on December 5, 2023, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Elaine (Verducci) Antonellis. Devoted father of Jennifer (Antonellis) Kagan and her husband, David, Laurie Antonellis and her husband, Kevin and Jesse Antonellis. Loving grandfather of Autumn, Phillip, Thomas, Sarah and Charlotte. He is survived by his sister, Judy Mobilia and her husband, Bob; and sisters-in-law, Diane Antonellis, Aisling Hickey and Toni Verducci; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Loretta Antonellis; and bothers, Robert Antonellis and Richard Antonellis. Jim served on the Newton Fire Dept. for 32 years, earning the rank of Lieutenant. He also served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Jim loved spending time with his family and close friends, cooking and his dogs. He spent his summers on Cape Cod. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2 to 5PM, in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., WEST NEWTON. A private Burial will take place at a later date.
