James MacCormack, a lifelong resident of Newton, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of 40 years to Eloise (Hiltz) and loving father of Jamie MacCormack of Newton and Kelley Koloski and her husband Chris of Waltham. Doting grandfather of Rylee James and Connor Koloski. He is the dear brother of Kathy D'Agostino of Florida, Jane Wallace, Arline MacCormack and Christine MacCormack all of Newton and the late Allan Jr. (Biff) and Tom MacCormack. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Newton, James was a graduate of Newton Catholic High School, Mass Bay Community College and ITT Tech, and has worked for the City of Newton for many years. He enjoyed summers on the beach in Marshfield and playing scrabble, but above all he cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 24th at 10:30AM in Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 573 Washington St. Newton. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 4-7PM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. West Newton.
