Obituary

John H. "Jack" Cahill of Holliston died suddenly of natural causes on January 2, 2019 at the age of 77. Loving father of John C. Cahill of Brighton, and longtime partner of Marie Elena Rich of Holliston. Dear brother of Nancy Cahill Baxter of Wilton, ME, Jane Cahill Hunt of Cardiff, CA and Paul Cahill of Wellesley. Also survived by 4 nieces and nephews. A graduate of Wellesley High School, class of 1959 and Newton Junior College, Jack was a proud veteran of the US Army Reserve, serving during the Vietnam Era.
The proprietor of Cahill Fuel Co., Inc., Jack served Wellesley and the surrounding communities for 56 years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Wellesley, and 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight in 1968. An avid gardener, he loved spending time outdoors.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, January 7 at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd. Wellesley followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-6PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute at DanaFarberGiving.org
