John "Jack" Garry, of Framingham, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 74. The oldest son of Joseph and Miriam Garry, John grew up in Newton & Natick, graduating from Natick High School. He attended Boston College for one year before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. John received an honorable discharge from the U.S.M.C. and after recovering at The Chelsea Naval Hospital, he returned to Boston College graduating with a business degree in 1973.
John remained forever loyal and connected to the BC community. He enjoyed a successful career in sales in Boston, Los Angeles and Phoenix, before returning to Massachusetts when he retired to be closer to his family.
John had an avid interest in nature photography and family history. He was a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland.
John was pre-deceased by a younger brother Richard of North Carolina in 2020. He is survived by two sisters, Marcia and her husband George of Gilmanton, NH and Janet and her husband Bill of Brockton. He is survived by two younger brothers, Brian of Medway and Kevin of Topsfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will celebrate Jack's life on Friday, October 22, 2021 with a memorial visitation from 10-11AM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home 1479 Washington St. West Newton. A prayer service will be held at 11AM in the funeral home, immediately followed by burial at the Newton Cemetery.
