Louisa H. Lok, of Newton, November 10, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Yung King Lok. Loving mother of Josephine Lok and Michael Lok, both of Newton and the late Stephen Lok. Dear sister of Cecil Sien of Hong King, Nelly Tse of Hong Kong, Yolanda Mak-Gouldthorpe of Newton, Spencer Sin of Ohio and Cindy Leung of Florida. Also survived by 2 grandchildren.
Louisa has been a life-long educator and learner. At the start of her teaching career, she taught elementary school students in Hong Kong. While working full time in Boston, she undertook further studies and earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education from Boston State College; after which she taught English as a Second Language at Underwood School in Newton. As a mother she encouraged her children to likewise strive to do their best in all their endeavors.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17th at 10AM in the Grace Episcopal Church, 76 Eldredge St. Newton. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 5-8PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Lok's memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Community Care Hospice, 90 Wells Ave. Newton. 02459.
