Obituary

Margaret Ann (Nossel) Mansfield, a longtime resident of Newton, passed away February 19th at the age of 85.

Beloved wife of the late George E. Mansfield, and loving mother of Julia C. Mansfield, both of Newton. She is also survived by several loving family members.

Born in Baltimore to Bernard F. and Margaret Mary Nossel, and was raised in Pikesville, MD, she was predeceased by her brother Bernard Chris Nossel. She graduated from Mt. St. Agnes College, received her M.A. degree from Catholic University, and her Ph.D. from Cornell University. At her retirement she was Associate Chair of the English Department for the University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, February 24th from 3 to 6 pm, in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., West Newton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Julia C. Mansfield Supplemental Needs Trust, 2409 Highpoint View Ct. #402, Frederick, MD 21702.

A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, February 25th at 10:30AM Sacred Heart Parish, 1321 Centre St.,
Newton Centre, followed by inurnment in the Columbarium at Newton Cemetery.
