Martin D. Ryan of Waltham died on June 3, 2023 at the age of 80. He is survived by his loving daughter Kelly Ryan of Lexington, sister Margaret (Ryan) Link and her husband Bernard of Northborough, brother Francis Ryan and his wife Geraldine of Falmouth and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his eldest sister Mary (Ryan) Abbott and his youngest sister Judy (Ryan) Pruett.

Marty was born and raised in Newton. He was the son of Margaret (Doyle) Ryan and James ("Del") Ryan. He graduated from Newton North High School in 1960. Marty labored at various jobs over the years specializing in warehouse management at companies including Raytheon, Firestone, American Textile, Foto-beam, Saga House and MacNabb Engineering.

Marty was a talented baseball player who always played shortstop. He played baseball at Newton North High School from 1959-1960. He played for the Upper Cape Cod League in Falmouth alongside his brother Francis ("Bud") Ryan and his cousin Tommy Ryan during the summer of 1960. Marty also played basketball in the Newton City League.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 12PM in Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. W. Newton. Visiting hour from 11AM-12PM In lieu of flowers donations can be made to elder services charity of choice.
