Mary L. Pacione, a lifelong resident of Newton, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the age of 84. Born in Newton, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ferdinando and Mary (Guzzi) Pacione and dear sister Joseph A. Pacione of Newton, and the late Francis, Philomena and Ferdinand Pacione. She is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Pacione of Florida, and is the loving aunt to Anthony and Mayte Pacione and their children Gabriel and Sienna of Old Tappan, NJ, Matthew and Stephanie Pacione and their children Rocco and Analisa of Camas, WA, Nancy Clarke and her husband Tom of Newton, Helen Ackerson and her husband Richard of Needham, Margaret Miller of Andover and the late Lisa Pacione, and the cousin of Joseph A. Guzzi and his wife Cathy of Weston.

A graduate of St. Bernard High School in West Newton, and Emmanuel College, Mary went on to earn her Master's Degree from Boston State College and Doctorate of Education from MIT.  She was an educator in the Natick Public School System for 33 years, teaching at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 10AM in Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Parish, West Newton followed by interment in Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be immediately prior to the Mass from 8:30-9:45AM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, West Newton.
