Maureen A. McMullen, 90, of Norwood, MA, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born on August 5, 1935, in Boston, MA, Maureen was the eldest of six children of Francis and Mary (Kenslea) McMullen. She was raised in Newton, MA, where she graduated from Newton High School before earning her degree from Regis College.
Maureen dedicated her professional life to social work, a field that reflected her deep compassion and commitment to helping others. She had a love of reading, classical music, and nature, and she especially cherished long walks and summers spent at the family's home in Marshfield, MA.
She is survived by two sisters, Rita (Bob) Gribben of Hollywood, SC, and Eileen (Tom) Glynn of Andover, MA; a sister-in-law, Annie (Bill) Castelnovo McMullen of Bristol, RI; and a brother, John (Sheila) McMullen of Denver, CO. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Maureen was predeceased by her brothers Frank McMullen of Newton, MA, and Bill McMullen of Bristol, RI.
Burial will be private at Newton Cemetery in Newton, MA.
