Peter
Caruso
April 28, 1966 – April 7, 2026
Peter E. Caruso, of Auburndale, MA, passed away after a sudden illness on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Pete was raised in Cohasset, MA, the son of the late Emilo and Catherine Caruso. He attended Cohasett High School, where he was captain of the football team and played drums. He graduated from Stonehill College, where he met many of his lifelong friends. Pete started his college admission counseling career at Stonehill and then continued at Boston College, where he earned a masters degree. He spent the past thirty years in BC's admission office, relishing the opportunity to represent the school and connect with prospective students, families, and school counselors. Pete was actively involved in the New England and National Association of College Admission Counselors, and assumed numerous leadership roles over the years, including a term as President.
Pete is survived by his wife, Nancy (Goldsmith), and sons, John and Nick; sister, Regina Santamaria (Alan) and daughter, Ava; sister-in-law, Deborah Caruso and daughter, Cassie, father-in- law Gene, brother-in-law Scott (Hilary) Goldsmith, and their daughters Jill and Kate.
In addition to his parents, Pete was predeceased by his brothers Michael and Stephen and his mother-in-law, Jo-Anne Goldsmith.
Pete enjoyed a wide circle of friends and colleagues. He loved coaching his boys' teams in Auburndale and at the West Suburban YMCA. A lifelong musician, Pete cherished the time he spent with the bands he played in.
We are heartbroken at his sudden passing and comforted knowing that he took joy in his family, friends, and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's memory to Messina College at BC, a two-year residential program designed to help first-generation students from underserved communities (https://www.givecampus.com/campaigns/62495/donations/new).
