Obituary

Peter James Casale, formerly of Lexington Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday August 2 nd 2026 at the age of 82.

Peter was born on December 27 th 1943. The son of John Joseph Casale and Gladys Dennis Casale, he grew up in Newton Massachusetts along with his three siblings, Jack, Linda, and Steve.

Peter was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the army from 1964-1967 where he was awarded multiple metals most notably the Air Medal (with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster). After returning home he transitioned to his career as a chemical technician for Polaroid where he would go on to work for more than 30 years. He met his beloved wife Tanya of 49 years on a blind date where the two took his boat out on Boston Harbor. They would settle down in Lexington Massachusetts where they would raise their children, Thomas and Jana. There he built a life as a hardworking man who loved sports, fishing, summers travelling around Europe, and spending time with family at their summer home on Martha’s Vineyard. Peter would retire from Saint-Gobain corp. at the age of 72.

Peter was a person that people couldn’t help but instantly like, and he had many friends. He was kind, fun, and easy to spend time with. His sense of humor was unrivaled, and he always had the perfect timing to step in with a joke that would brighten any room. He will be remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, caring brother, loyal friend, and the most wonderful grandfather. He was a strong man with a deep understanding of who he was and there aren’t words to express how much he will be missed.

Peter is survived by his wife Tatjana Vudler, his son Thomas Casale, his daughter Jana Casale, his son-in-law Jacob Guza, his grandsons Jonas Casale Guza and Luka Casale Guza, his brother John Casale, and sister Linda Phillips. He is predeceased by his brother Stephen Casale.

A service will be held at Westview Cemetery in Lexington MA on August 8 th at 11am.
