Phyllis A. Spezzano

Phyllis A. Spezzano of Whitinsville, formerly of Upton and Roslindale, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the age of 87. 

Born in Boston to James and Nellie (Wallace) O’Donnell, she was the beloved wife of 64 years of the late Gaetano J. Spezzano Sr. The couple settled in Roslindale to start their family before moving to Upton then Whitinsville. The loving mother of Gaetano Jr., Carl, Mitchell and his wife Judy Ann (Cava) and Christine Spezzano, she was also the dear grandmother of 7: Xiong Spezzano and his wife Juana Gonzalez, Mailee Spezzano and her husband Thomas Bermudez, Robert Caggiula, Anthony Spezzano, Jessica Caggiula, Christopher Spezzano and the late Carl Spezzano, Jr. as well as great grandmother of Kitana Spezzano and Ariella Bermudez. She is also survived by dear sister Patricia “Pat” Graham. Mrs. Spezzano was a talented seamstress who owned her own tailor shop for many years. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. 

A visiting hour will be held at the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. West Newton, Monday, August 3rd from 10-11AM concluding with a prayer service at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Holyhood Cemetery, Chestnut Hill.
