Obituary

WELLESLEY – Richard E. (Dick) Chisholm, 89, passed away October 15, 2024, peacefully at
home with family at his side. He was born May 25, 1935, at Newton Wellesley Hospital, the son
of Allan J. Chisholm and Mary (MacDonald) Chisholm. He graduated from Wellesley High
School in 1953.
He married Carole (Piawlock) Chisholm in 1961, and they settled in Wellesley where they raised
2 children.
He was a Wellesley Firefighter for 33 years and held several side jobs throughout his career
and after his retirement, including driving trucks of all sizes and heavy equipment, hauling loam
and other materials to construction sites, and driving refurbished ambulances and fire trucks
back to locations as far away as Ohio. Over the years he worked for several "outfits" (as he
called them) like the former Hines Trucking Co., A.W. Graymont, Kimball Sand, Sam White &
Sons, Bulldog, and Quality Emergency Vehicle and more where he made countless lifetime
friends and acquaintances.
Dick was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1958-1960 in the 25th Infantry
Division Military Police.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Carole who passed away in 2022, as
well as all of his siblings; his sister Barbara (Chisholm) Casey, brother Allan Chisholm, and
brother Larry Chisholm. He leaves behind his daughter Andrea (Chisholm) Graham and her
husband Aaron of Blackstone, MA, his son, John (J.B.) Chisholm of Wellesley, his sister-in-law
Donna Collette of CT, his brother-in-law William (Bill) Collette, and his wife Jane of UT, his 3
grandsons, David Graham of Danvers, MA, and his wife Rachel, Brad Graham of Blackstone,
MA, Noah Graham of Marlborough MA, and his great-granddaughter Lilah Rose Graham. He
also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. He will be missed by
all.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 26th, 2024, 10:00am at Henry J. Burke & Sons
Funeral Home, 56 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA followed by interment at Woodlawn
Cemetery in Wellesley.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Dick in a special way can make donations to the
Alzheimer's Association of MA, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02542, in memory of his
late wife, Carole Chisholm.
