Obituary

Robert T. Keenan Jr. , age 63, of Wellesley passed away on March 8 th while playing hockey, the game he loved all his life. Beloved husband and best friend of Karen (Creegan) and devoted father of Ryan, Dylan and Brendan Keenan, all of Wellesley.

Bob grew up in Dorchester as the loving son of Roberta Keenan-Conuel of Quincy and the late Robert T. Keenan with his brothers and sisters John J. Keenan of Quincy, Mary J. Keenan of Waltham, Michael E. Keenan of South Pasadena FL, Stephen Keenan of Springfield, Thomas Keenan of Scituate, Dr. Ann Doggett-Ventura of Newton and the late Edward Keenan. He attended Don Bosco Technical High School and then entered the Air Force. After leaving the service, he studied electrical engineering, specializing in microwave technology.

Bob met Karen on a blind date and eloped with her exactly two years later so he would only need to remember one key date. They settled in Wellesley in 1998. He retired from Raytheon in 2002 to raise his three sons, spending countless hours taking photos of their every move and coaching all of their hockey teams. He embraced every hobby – from sailing to photography – with such relentless analytics and fervor that he drove his family nuts. When Ryan wanted to learn guitar, Bob decided to learn guitar with him. He persuaded Karen to take the opportunity of a two-year work assignment in London so the family could traipse all over Europe on "educational" trips and proceeded to study French and Italian. He was passionate about the Patriots and Bruins, overanalyzing every game and trade with his brothers. He loved to travel, especially to the Superbowl when the Patriots were playing.

He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Paul F. Creegan Jr. of Walpole and Brian Creegan of
Tyngsborough and his sister-in-law Kathleen Creegan Damaskos of Mattapoisett as well as many nieces and nephews: Farhana, Jessica, Emily, Sean, Jake, Victoria, Cameron, Marc, Anna-Jean, Alison, Elena, Heather and Shawn.

He was proud of his extended family and loved them more than anything. Although we miss him already, we are incredibly grateful to have had him in our lives.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington
