Robert E. Maguire, a lifelong resident of Newton, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at age 84. Survived by his beloved wife Janet (Rokit), brother Michael Maguire of Great Barrington and many nieces and nephews as well as wonderful friends and in-laws. Loving son of the late George C. and Maryellen (Kelley) Maguire, and dear brother to the late Thomas P. Maguire, Margaret Fox, Eleanor Mahoney and George E. Maguire. A graduate of Newton High School, Robert worked in the Engineering Department of the City of Newton for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the US Army Reserves and a lifelong member of the Newton YMCA. He and Janet were avid travelers and Robert, a skilled triathlete, skied all over the world. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 29th at 1PM in the Chapel at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St. Newton.
