Robert was born in Halifax County, Virginia on September 17, 1958, the eldest child of the late Jessie Lewis Moore and Mary Owen Moore. Robert graduated from Dan River High School in 1977 where he was a standout basketball and track athlete. Following their wedding they spent a few months in Virginia Beach, Virginia before heading west to Alameda, California where Rob served several tours of duty
aboard the USS Enterprise Aircraft Carrier. He then was stationed in San Diego, California. Rob received his B.S. degree in criminal justice from California State University, Hayward. Upon his retirement from the Navy after 20 years of exemplary service, Rob transitioned to the property management field. He worked at the Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts as the Director of Facilities and Security. He continued in this line of work with Wellesley Green Condominium, Natick Green Condominium, the Winn Corporation and the 2Life Communities from where he retired in September 2020. Rob enjoyed all sports particularly basketball and
football. He had a passion for cars, especially his meticulously restored and maintained 1969 Camaro Z28.
