Obituary

Russell William "Bill" Price Jr. of Waban passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Beverly Hadley-Price, and brother of Carol Banks, Dawn Cavallaro, and the late Mary Louise (Lee) Kelso. He was the caring stepfather of Tod Hadley and his wife Rhea Stone, Peter Hadley and his wife Mary, Anne Hadley and her husband Tom Vawter, Susan Haggie and her partner Kent Vienneau, and Jeffrey Hadley and his wife Susan. He was known as Papa Bill to 14 grandchildren, Rebecca, Christopher, Nichole, Devon, Zachary, Benjamin, Gregory, Michela, Stephanie, Willamina, Jennifer, Christopher, Gina and Michael; and great- grandfather of 11.

He was born in Middletown, New York and moved frequently as a child. He settled in Newton where he met his lifelong best friend, Paul Hennrikus. He graduated from Newton North High School and went on to Boston University. He served in the Air Force National Guard and joined his father's business, OR Products, a maker of medical devices and products that improved the safety of operating rooms. He was proud of their accomplishments and the many patents they held. Later, he founded Price Incentives, an advertising specialties company.

He was always committed to providing a fun and happy life for all the children in the family. Sunday afternoons were often spent boating or riding go-carts and mini-bikes on the trails he would cut through his property.

Bill was able to fix just about anything. From a young age, he developed a passion for cars and enjoyed working on them. You would often find him in the driveway repairing a car or fixing something around the house.

Bill and Beverly loved being surrounded by family, and their house was always the center of activity for holidays and family gatherings. They also enjoyed Sunday drives to Cape Cod to visit friends, or to the North Shore to have lunch by the water. Bill will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10 at the Newton Cemetery Chapel at 11:00 AM. An hour for visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from 10-11AM in the Chapel.
