Sandra Ryan Conner, 67, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. Born on June 3, 1958, in Newton, Massachusetts, Sandy lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.
Sandy was a beloved wife to William Conner and a devoted mother to her children: Ryan Cheney, Elena Cheney, and Rebecca Cheney. Her love, guidance, and support helped shape her children's lives and will remain her lasting legacy. In recent years, one of her greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughter Sawyer, who brought light and laughter into her life.
She shared a close connection with her siblings—Linda Maxwell, Jane Kuronen, Mary Uberti, Robert Ryan, and Thomas Ryan—who were integral parts of her life. She was predeceased by her first husband, James Cheney.
Sandy found joy in creative pursuits. She loved gardening, sewing, knitting, and had begun learning to weave, which reflected her love for working with her hands. She also loved music, with favorite artists including Joni Mitchell, Sting, Tom Petty, and Jason Isbell.
For over thirty years, Sandy worked at INFICON, where she was admired for her expertise, commitment, and the kindness she extended to colleagues. Her gentle spirit and generous heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Those who knew Sandy often said she was one of the nicest people they had ever met—a sentiment echoed by friends, family members, and coworkers alike. Her kindness touched many lives and will be remembered with deep affection. We will all miss her very much.
May Sandy's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A service will be held on Saturday, August 30 from 2:00 to 5:00pm at Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., West Newton, MA 02465.
