Sonia Margarita Parker (née Palmer) died peacefully in Auburndale, MA, on Feb. 19, 2026. Born in Buenos Aires in 1939 to British missionary parents, she grew up in Argentina, Colombia, New Zealand, Australia, Wales, and Manchester, UK. In 1961 she married Simon Parker and immigrated to the U.S. She settled in Auburndale in 1977, where she immersed herself in the community and in administration at Boston University. Much loved, she is survived by her sister Dorothy and brother-in-law Michael; her sister-in-law Linda; and her sons and their families: Jonathan and Anne and children Julian and Asher, and Jeremy and Avri. Memorial service at United Parish of Auburndale, 11 a.m., March 14. Donations may be made to Bristol Lodge ( mhsainc.org/programs/shelter ), where she volunteered.
