On March 3rd, Susan Ellen Billings (MacDonald), loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, passed away at age 71 in Tucson, Arizona.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Francis Billings, her son, Jesse Scott MacDonald and his wife Maribel of Shenzhen, China, and her grandchildren Susan MacDonald-Bolaños of Providence, Rhode Island, Joyce Bolaños of Tucson, Arizona, and James Bolaños of Tampa Bay, Florida.
She is also survived by her brother Terry MacDonald and his wife Peg, her sister Patty Stevens and her husband Ross, as well as several nephews and nieces. Sadly, she was predeceased by her brothers Wayne and Joseph and her sisters Ruth Walsh and Janet Corley. Susan was born in Boston, Massachusetts, grew up in Auburndale, a village of Newton, and graduated from Our Lady's Newton Catholic High School. She was known for her love of music and her beautiful singing voice. In her last years, she was still singing Karaoke weekly and winning awards for her performances. She had an artistic soul that led her to several creative hobbies including knitting, painting, writing, and playing music. She was an excellent cook and loved to host family gatherings.
A memorial visitation will be held at Burke & Blackington Funeral Home at 1479 Washington St. in West Newton on Friday, July 7th from 4pm-6:30pm, concluding with a service at 6:30pm. Flowers are welcome and may be sent to the funeral home.
